  5. Q: What is an "alias" in GenDesigner?
  6. A: An alias behaves like a shortcut to a file on your computer. It looks 
  7. like a copy of a person. An alias and its original are two "representatives" 
  8. of the same person. You may use it when a person appears more than 
  9. once in a tree. TIP: Try double-clicking an alias.

  11. Q: Is there a way to enter multiple marriages?
  12. A: Yes, in 2.0, simply create them. PS: You may also indicate several 
  13. marriages if you create an alias, and links marriages to this item.

  15. Q: Do I need an Internet connection to use GenDesigner?
  16. A: No, not at all! You may use it just the way it is, to create and edit
  17. trees, and you may also create HTML pages for offline viewing.

  19. Q: Is there any likelyhood of a Macintosh version of GenDesigner in the 
  20. future?
  21. A: Yes, there may be a version coming up, you should keep your eyes up 
  22. for it.

  24. Q: I want to add more than 7 generations, how do I do this?
  25. A: Right-click your mouse on the items on top of the tree, choose "Make 
  26. this an alias", and place the item somewhere else. Then create a tree for 
  27. this item. You may do this with all the items on top of your tree.

  29. Q: I can't download your program.
  30. A: You should contact your Internet provider.

  32. Q: How do I print from GenDesigner?
  33. A: In GenDesigner 2.0 you may print the whole or just a part of the tree.

  35. Q: My pictures get all scrambled when I export to HTML. What can I do 
  36. to correct this?
  37. A: You should increase the amount of colors on your screen to 16 bit (or 
  38. more) before exporting to HTML. This should solve your problem.

  40. Q: How do I create framed HTML pages?
  41. A: This is now available in version 2.0
  42.  
  43. Q: I want to distribute my GenDesigner file to others, including pictures 
  44. and additional text. How should I do this?
  45. A: You should use "Collect all files" from the file menu. This will save 
  46. your GenDesigner file plus all pictures and text files in one directory.
